Why Learn Couples Massage?

If you’re like me, you’re someone who has always been eager to help a friend or family member with a good shoulder rub when they’re in need.  Unfortunately, after a few minutes you usually find yourself with sore hands after you’ve squeezed those shoulders like playdoh in your palms over and over.  Sure, this generally feels good to have done to us, but if you’ve ever had a professional massage, you know there’s a significant difference.  And that’s where Couples Massage 101 classes come in to help.

Common Benefits of Massage

~ Improved circulation ~
~ Stress relief and relaxation ~
~ Increased range-of-motion ~
~ Decreased muscular tension ~
~ Improved quality of sleep ~
~ Counteract “Fight-or-Flight” ~
~ Better respiration ~

There’s a reason a massage therapist can go 60- 90- 120 minutes into massage over and over again with an informed touch that finds those knots and knows how to knock them out.  Couples Massage 101 is here to help you learn more about the muscle anatomy, how to adjust your body mechanics to keep you pain-free, and how to address the aches all over your partner’s body.

What will you learn in Couples Massage 101

~ Massage basics (setting, setup, lubricants, etc.) ~
~ Common massage strokes and techniques ~
~ Hands-on bodywork applications for body areas ~
~ Proper body mechanics for giving massage ~
~ Basic anatomy & kinesiology ~
~ And so much more ~
